To start a new month just duplicate the tab or create a new copy of the file (instructions are included for both scenarios).

Tabs Included

3 tabs included:

Tab 1: Customizations.

  • Customize drop-downs shared between Bills and Expenses: categories, payment methods and custom tags.
  • Customize labels for the entire template, you can also translate them to a different language (you will have to do the translations yourself).

Tab 2: Monthly Budget Spreadsheet.

Including the following sections: Income, Savings, Investments, Debts, Bills and Subscriptions (within the same table), Expenses, Summaries.



This second sheet contains all of your monthly information, so you can duplicate that sheet each month and keep everything inside the same file OR you can choose to create a completely new file each month. Your call 😊👩🏻‍💻✨

Tab 3: Pre-filled example that you can delete after you are done playing around with it.

How it works

Get started in 3 steps:

Step 1: Customize the template with your basic information.

Before the month starts ...

Step 2: Enter your expected income for the month and plan the way you will allocate it (savings, bills and expenses, debt payments, investments)

As the month goes by ...

Step 3: Enter your actual income and the way it was actually distributed.

What will you receive?

Once you complete your purchase:

1.  You will receive an email with a link to download your file.

2. The file will be a PDF that contains: a link to access the spreadsheet and full step-by-step instructions.

3. To begin using your spreadsheet, just watch the video walkthrough and follow the instructions provided in the PDF.

Love this planner!

There are some things I would love to see added like a place to put Credit Card interest rates and total debt without it reflecting in my main breakdown. Would recommend for someone wanting to start budgeting without feeling super overwhelmed!

Do Google Sheets templates work in Excel?

No, Google Sheets templates are only compatible with Google Sheets and will NOT work in Excel.

Even though Excel and Google Sheets are both similar in some ways, not all the features and formulas are compatible with each other.

If you’re familiar with Excel you should be able to figure out Google Sheets in no time. The basic spreadsheet behavior is the same and all you need to get started is a FREE Google account. 

With the templates I created all you really need to do is fill out your information and follow the instructions to learn how to use the features included, so there’s really not that much that you need to know in terms of Google Sheets.

If you’re uncertain, you can always watch the demo videos linked in the description to make sure you will be able to navigate the spreadsheet and that it will be a good fit.
